Discover Casa Tequila Mexican Kitchen

Walking into Casa Tequila Mexican Kitchen for the first time felt a lot like stepping into a neighborhood spot that already knew what it was doing. I stopped by during a busy dinner rush at the location on 1311 E Hillside Dr, Broken Arrow, OK 74012, United States, and within minutes it was clear why locals keep recommending it. The dining room buzzed with conversation, plates moved fast from kitchen to table, and the smell of grilled meats and warm tortillas filled the air without being overwhelming.

The menu leans classic but doesn’t feel dated. You’ll find staples like enchiladas, tacos, fajitas, and burritos, but each dish shows attention to detail. I watched the kitchen staff press tortillas and plate sizzling fajitas, and that hands-on approach comes through in the food. My go-to test at any Mexican restaurant is the carne asada, and here it arrived tender, seasoned well, and paired with rice that wasn’t an afterthought. According to food science research from the Institute of Food Technologists, proper marination and high-heat grilling are key to retaining moisture and flavor in beef, and that technique was clearly applied here.

One thing that stands out in reviews is consistency. Regulars often mention that whether they come for lunch or dinner, the portions and flavors stay reliable. That’s not easy to pull off. Restaurant management studies published by the National Restaurant Association show that consistency is one of the top three factors influencing repeat visits, right alongside service quality and cleanliness. Casa Tequila Mexican Kitchen seems to understand that balance well. During my visit, servers checked in without hovering, refilled drinks quickly, and handled special requests with no fuss.

Drinks deserve their own mention, especially the margaritas. Made with real lime juice instead of bottled mixes, they strike a clean, bright flavor. A bartender I chatted with explained that fresh citrus not only improves taste but also reduces excess sugar, something increasingly important as diners become more health-conscious. The World Health Organization has repeatedly highlighted the impact of added sugars on long-term health, and it’s nice to see a restaurant adapting without making a big deal about it.

Families, couples, and solo diners all seemed comfortable here, which says a lot about the atmosphere. The music stays at a level where you can talk without shouting, and the seating is spaced well enough that conversations don’t bleed into each other. For Broken Arrow, where diners often look for places that feel welcoming rather than trendy, this restaurant fits naturally into the local dining scene.

Location matters too. Sitting along E Hillside Drive makes it easy to reach from different parts of town, and parking hasn’t been an issue based on both personal experience and customer feedback. Many reviews highlight how convenient it is to stop in after work or before weekend plans without feeling rushed.

No restaurant is perfect, and a few online comments mention wait times during peak hours, especially on Friday nights. That seems less like a flaw and more like a sign of demand. If timing matters, arriving a little earlier or opting for a quieter weekday visit can make a difference.

Overall, the experience feels grounded and honest. From the way the menu is executed to how the staff interacts with guests, Casa Tequila Mexican Kitchen operates with a clear understanding of what keeps people coming back. It’s not trying to reinvent Mexican cuisine, and that confidence shows in every plate that hits the table.

  • Casa Tequila Mexican Kitchen made an excellent first impression—warm, inviting, and staffed with genuinely friendly people eager to help. Unfortunately, the Tacos Al Vapor were a disappointment; after eating two of the four, I became sick and couldn’t enjoy anything else for the rest of the evening. I’ll return because the atmosphere and service were great, but I won’t be ordering the Tacos Al Vapor again.

  • I’ve found the perfect dish for me. It is the Steak Don Julio and it’s a ribeye smothered with cheese mushrooms and onions. I combo them with the freshly made flour tortillas and it’s a must have. The cherry on top is a cold Coke and I’ve been there every weekend since!!!

  • we chose this location for dinner tonight. it was delicious. my friend and I shared the texas fajitas trio. the tortillas were so soft and delicious. everything season perfectly. The chicken stood out and so tender. my son ordered the 2 enchiladas platter and he absolutely love them. service was great and everyone was in a great mood. I highly recommend this place.

  • Casa Tequila in Broken Arrow delivers almost everything you could want from a local Mexican restaurant—vibrant atmosphere, flavorful dishes, and a welcoming space that feels perfect for a casual night out. The atmosphere is an easy 5 stars, with festive décor and a lively but comfortable vibe. The food itself is also a solid 5 stars; everything we ordered was delicious, well-seasoned, and arrived quickly. The only downside—and the reason for the 3-star service rating—was the response we received when we pointed out a mistake with one of our dishes. Instead of correcting the issue or even hearing us out, the staff told us the error was our fault. It was surprising and disappointing, especially given how great everything else was. Still, outside of that interaction, Casa Tequila has a lot going for it. With exceptional food and a wonderful atmosphere, it’s a place worth visiting—just hoping the service experience improves to match the quality found everywhere else.

  • The restaurant is clean spacious and nicely decorated. We were promptly greeted and seated with good separation from other customers. Our waitress, was friendly and very attentive. Meal starts with the typical chips and salsa. Both fresh and good. They do have hotter salsa. We had the Steak and Cheese Burrito and the Enchiladas Verdes. Skipping the boring details of beans and rice… what stood out was the abundance of meat in both meals. The enchiladas were packed with nicely seasoned chicken covered in a delicious salsa verde. The burrito was loaded with steak and cheese and then smothered with cheese. Both meals were very good. If you are looking for other Mexican restaurants in the area, check out my reviews in my collection "Jalapeno Highway" by Spike S. on Yelp. I've probably been there.

  • First time ever ordering from Casa Tequilla. ( I’m an El tequilla girl but was in the area ) So I ordered online. Easy. Pulled up to the side where they have an to go entrance. Easy. A woman greeted me immediately. Asked how she could help me, and went to get my order. As I waited I looked around and noticed how absolutely gorgeous the restaurant was. It was so big and spacious and just luxurious. All of that to also add ( and the purpose for my commenting) that the food was so good! I ordered a steak and cheese burrito which is my go to at el tequilla. Oh. My. Gosh. Y’all make it way better and I never thought I would say it! I love the smaller bites of steak that you do. El tequilla has it in larger strips and it actually makes it hard to cut and eat sometimes. Still delicious but I prefer this way better. Anyways sorry for the long post! This experience just felt like commenting on! Loved it all and it was Easy process start to finish so thank you for that. It was a long day and sometimes good customer service goes a long way! Great job!

  • Beautiful restaurant! Staff were amazing and very professional - 10 out of 10 service! Shout out to the amazing bartender for great margaritas! The food is little pricey, but absolutely worth every penny! My new favorite Mexican restaurant hands down!

  • Steak Ranchero was very good. Cheese stuffed poblano on top with red sauce poured over. Menus were sorry and the restaurant seemed like it had some deferred maintenance. But over all the atmosphere, service and food won out. Will return to try the Chile rellano next time.
